While Kevin Smith didn't write Cop Out, there are definitely parts that have the distinct mark of his grubby little mitts all over it, and I mean that in a good way. Any fan of his earlier work can see the tell tale Smith-sonian signs. The movie opens with Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis arguing about homages to other movies, and thats basically what this is, an homage to buddy cop movies. If you're expecting more than that, well, you're going to be disappointed. But if you want to see Willis and Morgan bickering back and forth, causing destruction, and shooting people, boy are you in for a treat!
