Remakes, Reboots, and Sequels Oh MY!
With all the buzz about Mad Max: Fury Road out on the net, and the leaked set photos from Predators it seems we are in a for a lot of reheating of old properties over the next few years. Not just sequels either. Clash of the Titans is getting a new coat of paint. Hell, even a Highlander remake has been announced. Since nuked leftovers is what we are in store for, I decided to wholeheartedly embrace it, and even suggest what I'd like to see, either sequelized or rebooted, tossed back up on the big screen for another go round.
1. Escape from New York.

You might say, "But Chris, this already had a sequel! Escape from LA. It had Bruce Campbell." And I would say "Be quiet, big people are talking." A bad, albiet comically bad, sequel doesn't keep this from being a franchise that still has come life left in it. It's about time that Snake Plisken made his comeback. There are a few young actors I can think of that could take up the mantle, and plenty of room to go in the country if you don't want to use New York again. Escape from Minnesota? Kansas? I know I would hauling ass from either one of those places.
2. Flash Gordon.

I know this is actually up for a remake but here me out. First of you keep the soundrack. All of it. The Queen is part of what makes the movie. Speaking of which, you out there making the Highlander remake better keep the Queen there too. Or I will hunt you down. Anyway. Keep the soundtrack as is. Toss Ryan Reynolds in the lead as New York Jets Quarterback Flash Gordon and you are halfway there. Timothy Dalton can reprise his role, and John Rhys-Davies as King Vultan. Get Salma Hayek as Princess Aura and Mila Kunis as Dale Arden. Bang. Done. Make the movie.
